In a universe that seems to have fallen into a drunken Sheeran stupor, relief is at hand from a trio of big Kendallrock releases that hit the shelves/sites today.
Firstly the return of metals most eighties mothers, Steel Panther with their new album Lower The Bar. Expect all of the Crue/Poison style rock that you can handle and hell, I can handle a lot of it. (And if you have not heard their excellent Live From Lexxi’s Mom’s Garage, check that out too, unplugged greatness)
Secondly, the sophomore album from one of Londons finest Desperate Journalist. Basically if you love The Smiths, angsty early Radiohead, early Echo And The Bunnymen and Marion then you should already be in love with these guys as much as I am. Very much looking forward to Grow Up.
Thirdly and no doubt the strangest of today’s releases, if not the year’s, is the new concept album from The Residents, those eyeball headed oddbods don’t get any easier listening with age and I expect this to be the usual mix of heartstopping strangeness and ‘What the fuck was that’ brilliance.
