“To all film critics attacking me personally. I fight for making true indie movies, not copying other people’s safe shit or crowd pleasing Hollywood. If you hate my work that’s cool but I’m not your enemy in fact I’m your partner in crime cause we both have a criminal love for film!”

Aaand here we go again, a convention comes and goes and then seconds later, Flippers are offering the exclusive Funko Pops for seriously high prices. I know that a lot of collectors merely say “FUCK FLIPPERS” (there are many t-shirts with this on), but whilst it does annoy me that I cannot pick up some cool exclusives for decent prices, it is supply and demand. Not everyone can be against flipping as these are flying off the Ebay shelves, someone is paying these prices and so the tradition continues. When I started buying Funko, I made a rule that unless it was something I really wanted (there has to be a get out, in case we ever get US exclusive Casey Affleck or Joaquin Phoenix POPS, but still most Flipping cases are well above my price point. My most expensive Funko remains glittering Elton John, seventeen pounds) I would not get Funko Pops online and would only get ones I could physically buy, which means most are priced at 10-15 pounds. I’m no Rockefeller and in fact most people are surprised that I only have 7 Pops, cause you know, a boy has to eat!
Anyhoo, so what is Flipping on bay as we speak? The one I really lusted after seeing it in the SDCC videos was gold Bruce Lee, who is currently at 50 quid. Ouch. Ram Man from Masters Of The Universe is going for between 40-85, it certainly pays to look around, even on Ebay. WWE’s Asuka is available for a reasonable 25 quid and the lovely Pepe Le Pew is 29.99. Still too expensive for moi, but not crazy.
The top of the crazy tree is currently Super Saiyan Vegeta from Dragon Ball Z, which I have seen at 75 pounds, 100 pounds and even 171 pounds. This is when it starts to get, quite literally, flipping crazy. But I don’t get angry, I just scroll past. Good advice for any nerd. 🙂

There was plenty for Batfans to be excited about at Comic-Con including a Batman : The Animated Series retrospective panel, that I would have killed to have attended. Instead, I will have to be content with the forthcoming Blu-Ray release of the entire highly acclaimed series, the cover of which you can see above.
This show was one of the best in terms of style and story and also for better or worse, it gave us our first look at Harley Quinn.
Expect a release date soon and a UK price – the American version is priced at $112.99 and often we see companies merely swap out the dollar for the pound, putting us at a much higher price than our brothers across the pond. Be nice, DC, and let’s hope there are plenty of extras. *Makes space with all my Batman movies and Animated Blus*

Remember that joke you made earlier about the kids in the caves or the Russian poisonings? Now imagine that instead of just saying them over lunch you foolishly put them online in some form or other. Now imagine that ten years from now, you are a ultra successful director who loses his place on one of the most popular Marvel franchises because of the less-than-PC things he said when he was a young comic. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the tale of James Gunn.
Now in 2018, James Gunn is the director behind the two great Guardians Of The Galaxy movies which had him at the top table at Disney, till this week, when old tweets were unearthed by a dumbass Trump supporting goody two shoes, who watched frothing at the mouth as Gunn was taken off the franchise and in fact ANY projects at Disney.
Now, let’s look back at who James Gunn was…He was the man behind Tromeo And Juliet. Yep, let that sink in for a second. He was a director at Troma, a company that might as well be named Freedom-And-Hang-The-Consequences, occasionally purile, occastionally brilliant, just like the man himself. Now Disney knew about his past when they hired him so they should have known they were not getting Jesus fucking Christ. Also the jokes on his Twitter machine are just dumb toilet humour, not some dark insight into his private life, he has said nothing that Dice Clay or Stern would not have tossed out without a second thought.
This whole thing is a witch hunt and nothing more, it deserves a tut and a shaking of the head at the most, not exile from the Mouse House.

James Gunn, 2018 :

“It’s not to say I’m better, but I am very, very different than I was a few years ago; today I try to root my work in love and connection and less in anger. My days saying something just because it’s shocking and trying to get a reaction are over.”
