Henry Hill has left the building. The character actor’s character actor Ray Liotta has died but he has left us with a wealth of great performances spanning decades. Those of a certain age are probably instantly reminded of my sister’s favourite film ever Goodfellas or the dreamy Costner epic Field Of Dreams but dig deeper and you will see an actor who could tackle any genre and always gave it 100%.
On the dark end of the scale, Liotta triumphed in Hannibal, Blow and Cop Land but he could also be seen in Operation Dumbo Drop or Muppets From Space. Want animated madness? He appeared in Spongebob Squarepants, The Simpsons and The Bee Movie. And then flipped back to indie gold with The Place Beyond The Pines. Also, lest we forget, the main role in my favourite Grand Theft Auto game Vice City.
