Kendall’s Problem With…The WWE Draft :

So here we are on the other side of the WWE Draft and what did we get? In an exciting way, we got Carmelo Hayes on Smackdown and Lyra Valkyria on Raw. Aside from that? Worst. Draft. Ever.

The problem is that they first took the champions out of the game. Sure, those old days of watching champs having to swap belts in the ring was tedious, but you always felt ready to see one brand’s big dog arrive on the other side. Knowing that Becky Lynch is on Raw guaranteed, told us where Seth Rollins was going. Bianca on Smackdown meant the Street Profits were there too. And there were no faction break ups. The group came as a whole. Dull. And stupid, when Carlito, who has just betrayed the LWO is drafted…as part of the LWO.

Talking of factions, would you really rather have Damage Ctrl, without Bayley, obvs, before you could get CM Punk and Drew McIntyre? Also, where was Omos? Presented as a monster, now left out, does this mean he can go anywhere or is he heading out the door? Hell, even Giovanni Vinci who got chucked out of Imperium got a trade to Smackdown, albeit on the online portion of the draft.

They kept saying “Sometimes the draft is about keeping what you have got”, which is the dullest way to put it over. I’m super happy at Bron Breakker coming to Raw, but did we not just have a major storyline, where both brands tried to woo him?

“Ooh, we will pick Ricochet!”, when Dragunov is right there! Nope, this year the draft was a dud. ‘Oh but Kenny, we got to see The Dudley Boys!’, yes, WEARING SUITS. What the actual ECW fuck? Fail.
